As a wedding photographer, I honestly can’t imagine anything more beautiful than capturing the milestone moment of two lives uniting together. And having the opportunity to do so with luxury weddings? Now that is something else entirely! Take Carrie and Kyle’s Lehmann Mansion wedding for example. From the breathtaking decor to their lovely guests and truly radiant bride and groom – everything about this special day was one-of-a-kind. This was the kindest, most loving, gracious couple. They thanked both photographers all day long, hugged us goodbye, and could not have been sweeter. You can’t put a price tag on experiences like this one – it’s moments like these that make me love what I do even more.

Carrie and Kyle’s Lehmann Mansion Wedding

I started the day photographing Carrie and Kyle getting ready. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, I could feel the love and support both of them were receiving. They looked gorgeous, and seeing them all dressed up excitedly preparing for the beautiful day ahead made my heart swell with joy. It was especially lovely connecting with the bride who told me all about her upcoming honeymoon to Acadia National Park – my husband and I went there too, so it felt like one big cozy shared experience. The bride had a lovely first look with her bridesmaids; their teary-eyed embraces created a warm, bubbly energy that felt truly special to witness.

Witnessing Carrie’s beautiful and emotional first look with her father made me cry, but that’s nothing new. I’m never able to make it through these moments without getting teary. It is always so sweet to see how proud a father is of his daughter on her wedding day. Right before he sees her for the first time, I always ask each dad, “Are you ready to see your little girl for the last time as a single woman?” This question inevitably gets me every time; my eyes well up and I literally cannot even make it through that sentence without tearing up myself!

The Lehmann Mansion in Lake Villa was the picture-perfect venue for Carrie and Kyle’s luxury estate wedding. The stunning interiors were filled to the brim with love and joy, as everyone celebrated the beautiful union of the two lovebirds. Everything just came together flawlessly for their grand wedding – it was a perfect day and the hall they chose for their ceremony had an elegant yet cozy atmosphere that set the perfect tone for their love story. But, of course, nothing compared to how radiant Carrie and Kyle looked. Everyone present could feel the immense love these two shared for each other. 

We had a blast during their couples portraits! They were radiating with so much joy and had glowing smiles on their faces throughout the session. Looking back at these photographs, I can still HEAR their laughter! It was lovely seeing the newlyweds romantically pose together – they flowed gracefully from one pose to another like real pros. Capturing their romantic poses against the gorgeous backdrop of their venue was a joy and brought out their unique personality as a couple. What’s more, they brought so much enthusiasm to their wedding party portraits too. Both Carrie and Kyle had such fun with all their friends! It was a pleasure to capture all of the precious memories from their special day.

Carrie and Kyle’s Lehmann Mansion luxury wedding was a beautifully unforgettable day! It was an incredible setting to capture the beginnings of their new life together. Every detail – from the unique colorful candy cart with the banner ‘Love brings us home’ to the stunning wedding cake at the reception – was simply perfect for this special occasion.
