Why Every Bride Should Schedule a St. Louis Bridal Session | Forest Park Bridal Portraits

filed in

If you’re considering a St. Louis bridal session, I can’t recommend it enough! It’s one of my all-time favorite ways to serve my brides before their wedding day because it gives us an ABUNDANCE of something we rarely have enough of on the wedding day: time.

A bridal session gives us the gift of slowing down.

No timeline to rush. No guests waiting. No pressure to move from one moment to the next. Just a bride, her wedding gown, beautiful light, and an evening devoted entirely to celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime season.

London’s bridal session in Forest Park was exactly that.

We began in front of the iconic Jewel Box, wandered to the Pagoda, and finished the evening at The Muny as the sun dipped lower across the park. Every location felt timeless, elegant, and uniquely St. Louis, making it the perfect backdrop for portraits she’ll treasure forever.

London’s stunning gown from Boulevard Bride photographed beautifully, and Emily Miller created the most timeless hair and makeup that looked incredible both in person and in every photograph.

But the most beautiful part of the evening wasn’t the dress or the locations.

It was London.

Why I Love Bridal Sessions

As a St. Louis wedding photographer, I believe bridal sessions are one of the best investments you can make in your wedding experience. Not because you need more beautiful photos (although you absolutely will get them). Because of everything else they give you.

You Get Comfortable in Your Dress

Your wedding dress deserves more than a few rushed hours on your wedding day. A bridal session gives you the chance to walk in it, move in it, twirl in it, and simply enjoy wearing it. You learn how it feels, how it photographs, and how to move naturally before your wedding day ever arrives. That confidence changes everything.

You Experience Your Wedding Look Before the Wedding

Your bridal session is the perfect opportunity to wear your complete wedding look before your big day. You’ll see how your hair, makeup, jewelry, veil, and bouquet come together, and if there’s anything you’d like to adjust, you’ll know well before your wedding. It gives you complete confidence walking into your wedding morning.

Your Wedding Day Feels More Relaxed

Because we’ve already photographed you in your gown, there’s a sense of familiarity when your wedding day arrives. You already know how I direct you. You already know how to move. You already know what it feels like to be in front of my camera. Instead of wondering what to do, you simply get to enjoy your day.

You Receive an Entire Gallery of Bridal Portraits

Wedding days move quickly. Even with the best timeline, there are always moments pulling your attention elsewhere. A bridal session creates an entirely separate gallery dedicated only to you. These portraits often become framed artwork in your home, gifts for parents, or heirlooms that will be passed down for generations. Another benefit of a bridal session is having your bridal portraits ready in time to display at your reception. It’s a timeless Southern tradition that I would love to see become just as common here in the Midwest.

My Heart Behind Every Bridal Session

One of the greatest privileges of my job is watching my brides begin to see themselves the way the people who love them already do. So many women step in front of my camera telling me they’re awkward or not photogenic. By the end of their session, they’re laughing. They’re relaxed. They’re confident. They’re simply themselves. Nothing makes me happier than watching that transformation happen.

When my brides trust me, they don’t have to spend their wedding day worrying about how they look or wondering if they’re doing something “right.” They can be fully present with the people they love because they know they’re in good hands. That peace is something I value just as much as the photographs themselves.

A Timeless Forest Park Bridal Session

Forest Park remains one of my favorite locations for bridal portraits in St. Louis because it offers so much variety in one place. The glass architecture of the Jewel Box, the timeless elegance of the Pagoda, and the grand beauty surrounding The Muny create a gallery that feels both classic and romantic. London was absolutely radiant in every location, and I couldn’t be more excited that these portraits are now part of her story.

Planning a St. Louis Bridal Session?

If you’re searching for a St. Louis wedding photographer or planning a Forest Park bridal session, I would love to help you create an experience that’s just as meaningful as the photographs themselves. My goal has never been simply to take beautiful pictures. It’s to help you feel beautiful, cared for, and completely at peace as you celebrate one of the sweetest seasons of your life. If that sounds like the experience you’re dreaming of, I’d love to start planning your bridal session together.
